Proverbs 2:6-11

For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
8for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.
9Then you will understand what is right and just
and fair—every good path.
10For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
11Discretion will protect you,
and understanding will guard you.

This morning my reading was about Martha and Mary.  Martha was busy in the kitchen when Jesus came to visit, but Mary only wanted to be with Jesus.  To hear what He had to say and to soak in His Presence.  Mary wanted wisdom and understanding and knew the only way to get is was through her Lord.
Martha goes to Jesus and complains that Mary is not helping her, but Jesus calms her down saying, "Martha, Martha, you are worried about many things but Mary has chosen what is better."
I wonder if Martha sat down and listened.

Many times I get too busy doing good things, I think it is time to slow down and LISTEN.
