Proverbs 4:5-9

Get wisdom, get understanding;

do not forget my words or turn away from them.

6Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you;

love her, and she will watch over you.

7The beginning of wisdom is this: Get^a wisdom.

Though it cost all you have,^b get understanding.

8Cherish her, and she will exalt you;

embrace her, and she will honor you.

9She will give you a garland to grace your head

and present you with a glorious crown.”

I like the fact that wisdom and understanding are female.  I'm sure there is some deep theological meaning to this, but I just think God knows that women are wiser and more understanding than men.  Don't judge me.  I'm a little old fashioned.  Men are stronger and tend to take the lead.  They provide, they fix things, and they set the rules. 

In my world it's the woman who protects, loves, cherishes, embraces, and honors.  

No, it's not a perfect world.  That happens when we get to Heaven.  But until then, I will strive to be wise and understanding.
