Sunday, July 25th we boarded our Spirit Flight to Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Monday, July 26th, bright and sunny. Perfect day for the beach. The water was so clear and warm. The beach was peaceful, and quiet, just like we like it. We discovered a new beer, Light Sky by Blue Moon. So refreshing! We ran 10 blocks after returning from the beach and stopped at the new Tiki Bar. We drove to Ocean Drive and found Napuel Pizzaria. Bill had a burger and I ate chicken fajitas. We share a giant Long Island Iced Tea.
Another beautiful day at the beach. There was a memorial set up to honor the victims of the condo collapse in Surfside on our way to the beach.
I
We were in the mood for wings, so I googled "best wings on Miami Beach" and found Pizza and Burgers at the Fontainebleau Resort. Fancy schmansky! They were delicious along with the corn fritters. Bill didn't like paying $16.00 for a little Jim Beam and ginger ale.
Wednesday, Adventure Day! We drove to Everglades Safari Park for an airboat ride. We also saw an alligator show. We drove to the Everglade National Park so I could get my passport stamped. After that we drove to Virginia Key Outdoor Recreation Center to kayak on Biscayne Bay. I was grumpy and my feet hurt but we walked to Lincoln Road for a burger at the Sexy Steakhouse.
Back to the beach after a stop at Publix for supplies (beer) Then back to Ocean Drive for dinner. We had chicken Parmesan and shared another giant drink, Mediterranean Storm at ICON.
Took it easy today, beach, and nearby restaurant, The Tavern. I had a Cuban sandwich and Bill had another burger, Juicy Lucy this time. Shared another BIG Long Island. Took a walk down the boardwalk and had a drink at the hotel bar.
Last day! We drove to Bayside Market Place to watch people. We discovered the have a huge Ferris Wheel, over 200 feet high. Of course I wanted to ride it. $40.00 later we are on top of the world. We got cleaned up and went to church at St. Patrick's. We drove to Lincoln Road at ate at SPRIS. I had a panini and Bill had a calzone. Back to the Holiday Inn on 43rd St. to pack and hit the hay.
Good thing we went to bed early....we woke up early and left for Fort Lauderdale to get our flight home. Chaos, trouble, confusion, and crazy met us at the airport. But we made it home.
Thank You, Jesus!
